Brotherton House,

Leeds

Completed: April, 2014

Service: Architecture

Sector: Student Living

Client: Study Inn

Size: 350 beds

Cunniff Design were appointed by Study Inn to redevelop Brotherton House and create a new block of accommodation, in conjunction with J Pullan & Sons who own the building. Cunniff took the brief to create a new tower sitting to the side of the existing building while refurbishing the existing historical building and bringing it back to life.

Historic Asset

Brotherton House was built in the 1950s for the famous Leeds chemical company and was later occupied by West Yorkshire Police for many years. The building has an Art Deco style and the remaining interior features are being retained within the proposed development, including the grand feature staircases at either end of the building.

BIM Modelling

As with all projects, Cunniff have produced detailed Revit models for this project to help with accurate design and co-ordination which is especially important with an existing, historic building.
